ABOUT THE MEDIATOR

 

Attorney Marie Mendelson Piccarreta uses her legal knowledge and mediation skills as the mediator at Old Pueblo Mediation Services.  She believes in open and honest communication, collaboration, and professionalism.  Ms. Piccarreta is highly trained in dispute resolution techniques and has been specifically trained as a divorce mediator. She has successfully mediated numerous family disputes, including disputes arising from marital dissolution, legal separation, property division, legal decision-making, parenting time, child support and spousal maintenance.  Marie Piccarreta’s skills and experience has earned her the honor of being listed in The Best Lawyers in America© in the area of Family Law Mediation.

Before the establishment of Old Pueblo Mediation Services, Ms. Piccarreta’s legal practice was at a Tucson law firm, where her practice included general civil litigation, domestic and probate matters, as well as residential and commercial real property transactions.

Marie Piccarretta is an Advanced Practitioner Member of the Family Section of the Association for Conflict Resolution, a national organization for professional divorce mediation practitioners that grants membership to mediators who have satisfied its training, experience, and educational requirements.

She is a current member of the State Bar of Arizona and the Pima County Bar Association. She is an active member of the professional organizations such as the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar of Arizona and Association for Conflict Resolution and a frequent lecturer and presenter at their annual meetings, as well as at the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law.

Ms. Piccarreta has served as:

  • Pima County Superior Court Pro-Tem Settlement Judge
  • Adjunct Professor at the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona,
  • Board of Directors Member of the Arizona Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts,
  • Chairperson of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar of Arizona,
  • President of the Mediation Association of Southern Arizona.

Ms. Piccarreta has provided mediation services for individuals and numerous organizations including:

  • Arizona Attorney General’s Office, Civil Rights Division,
  • Tucson Association of Realtors,
  • State Bar of Arizona,
  • Tucson Community Mediation Program.
